Stand

Stand (2008–ongoing) extends these ideas into the dimension of time and duration. Consisting of twelve forms built to the artist’s standing scale—referencing the 12-hour divisions of day and night and the 12 months of the year—the installation functions as a cumulative, time-based journal. Each figure is crafted from flesh-colored nylon on stainless steel stands, with one gossamer lingerie-like layer added annually for every year of the artist’s life, creating a quivering, ethereal record of lived time.
