Gestures – Flesh

Gestures (flesh), 2020 is a series of three pairs of sculptures crafted from translucent, flesh-toned nylon mesh, with each piece sized to the precise standing scale of the artist’s body. Drawing conceptual inspiration from earlier work on human genetic chromosome pairs (DNA Series), the series explores themes of physical presence, duality, and intimate connection. The geometric rectangular forms are intentionally installed in soft, undulated folds, allowing the environment and gravity to mold them. This intentional instability ensures the work evolves, presenting a unique configuration in every installation, signifying the ever-changing, unseen bond between a couple.
